It's not real.
Everyone posing for the happy cheesy smiling group photo.
In reality...
Mum says "Smile" and smiles through gritted teeth while elbowing you.
You don't actually like all the people in this photo... in fact, this certain one always pisses you off...
Why should you smile for your school photo? You aren't happy, you're at school!!
But then, those candid shots...
the couple smiling cheesily at one another, caught off guard
The two friends laughing together, having no idea a photo was taken
The cousins playing a game of tag in the backyard, running around, smiling all the time
Be real.
I am so sick of people who are fucking fake.

ReplyDeleteSo true....so funny! I can remember christmas card photo sessions growing up...anything but happy! ha.
ReplyDeleteYes candid shots are definitely the best i reckon!!! :)
ReplyDeleteCandid shots are almost always better than the posed ones. Most family group shots tell far more about the family than they ever realize, a lot of it not fit for public consumption.
ReplyDelete@PattiKen yes i agree! oh and im definitely not saying all group shots are bad, in fact i have a really lovely one of me with my friends i may post sometime
ReplyDeleteI know! And they say the camera never lies, yes it does, you should see some of my family photos, squirming kids being pinched where nobody can see, my mother having a caniption because we didn't dress appropriately, my brother sulking . . ah the memories.
